Delta 11 THC         

Delta 11 THC is a naturally occuring cannabinoid found in hemp. This is similar to other related compounds like delta 8, delta 9, and delta 10. However, in your research you may have found sources discussing 11-hydroxy-THC and Delta 11 as though they are the same. This is not the case.

11-hydroxy-THC is a metabolite generated by your body after the oral consumption of delta-9-THC. Although a form of thc, these two compounds are not the same and as a result have very different effects. 

According to some sources, Delta 11 THC presents itself as a stronger alternative to Delta 8, providing more potent psychoactive effects. Other sources claim that Delta 11 is more potent than Delta 9  itself. I find this hard to believe, but as the research on the matter itself is thin it is up to us as consumers to collect first hand data (so let's get stoned and find out!). 

First referenced in a paper from the 1970's and again in the 1990's Delta 11 has received very little attention from the general cannabis community. It was not until the widespread use of Delta 8 and other derivatives until people began talking about Delta 11. 

Is Delta 8 or Delta 11 Better?

Delta 11 is regarded as a stronger compound, delivering a more potent and intense experience than Delta 8. This being said, more potent doesn't necessarily equal better. Many people choose to consume Delta 8 because of its lighter effects, which allow usage throughout the day without fear of overconsumption. If you are an individual looking to experience cannabis for the first time and are afraid of becoming too high, delta 8 would be the "better" choice. However, if you are interested in taking your high to the next level, Delta 11 could be right up your alley. 

What Are The Effects Of Delta 11

Delta 11 provides a more potent high when compared to delta 8 or delta 10 and on par or slightly above that experienced with delta 9. The one key distinguishing factor is that delta 11 boasts a longer lasting effect than delta 9 with a more steady high . This means that patients who use cannabis for treating disorders like insomnia, chronic pain, or seizures, can rest easy, not having to constantly use more product to treat their symptoms. Essentially, Delta 11 provides a similar, but longer lasting experience to delta 9.
